With 35 years of experience in the hair profession, Xen’s passion is making people look and feel their best.

 
After leaving a nursing and Physician Assistant career, Xen followed his passion for hair design. He trained as a cosmetologist, and after graduating from The Potomac Academy of Hair Design, he was recruited by the late Robin Weir of Washington, DC. Through him, he was introduced to Glemby International New York and started his career in the hair industry. 

Xen’s extensive training with Wella International both in the United States and Europe while working as a hair stylist and colorist at Glemby at Bloomingdale's White Flint, in North Bethesda, Maryland in the late 80s.  After 4 years, he joined the team at Rainbow Hair Designers where he remained 23 years until the mall closed its doors in 2013.

He furthered his extensive training in hair coloring techniques with Wella International in New York, L'Oréal Professional in France, and with Goldwell, Alfaparf Milano, and Brazilian Blowout.


His coloring techniques vary from soft and natural, to bold and eye-catching. While specializing in “blondes,” he loves highlighting techniques, balayage, and Ombre. Color Correction is one of his favorite passions. He also loves keratin applying treatments, haircutting, and updos.

Xen’s goal is to make his clients look and feel their best while taking into consideration every aspect of each individual - from personality to face shape and structure. While taking pride in his ability to listen to his customers and creating a bridge between his mind and theirs,  making people feel and look their best brings him immense pleasure and satisfaction.​

Xen resides in Kensington, MD with his partner of 30 years. He loves to travel, draw, paint, cook, and he adores his two dogs.
